The study examined “economic effect of capital on soybean production in Kwara State. The objectives of the study were to determine the levels of capital inputs on soybean production, determine the rate of return to capital input and to examine the effect of capital inputs on soybean production in Kwara State. Information for this study was collected from 318 samples of soybean farmers mainly through self-administered questionnaire and personal observations. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The result shows that about 45.3% labour, 21% improved seeds/improved varieties, 8.1% improved fertilizer and 10.4% transportation were used as capital inputs to produce a unit of soybean per hectare in the state; 66% of rate of return on improved seeds/improved varieties is higher than other inputs used for soybean production; and a percentage increase in capital inputs will elicit no significant increase in production due to lack of credit access and interest rate accrued from bank loans.[idea.creativelimelight.com]
