The only Pay TV service legally authorized to broadcast live premiership games in Sub-saharan Africa is Supersport TV, while BeIN TV is the only broadcaster allowed to show premiership in North Africa.

In 2017, BeIN TV banned TStv from illegally transmitting its EPL coverage and TStv is still owing millions for violating BeIN TV's broadcast rights.

The only sports channel on TStv is Grande TV and they do not have any license or permission to broadcast Premier League games, but its promoters are using the EPL to market their products and Nigerians are rushing to subscribe.

Live football is the biggest draw for Pay TV operators in Nigeria.
The more live football an operator can offer in its premium bouquet, the more subscribers it will attract.

It's either your brain doesn't work or your eyes need glasses.

Sky Sports who are the global owners of the EPL Broadcast television and online streaming rights, opens up bidding for regional broadcasters on a three yearly cycle.
The current cycle began in 2022 and ends in 2025.
During this period, only Supersport can cover English premiership games in Sub-saharan Africa.
Anyone else who tries to Broadcast EPL games without any valid licensing from Sky Sports is operating illegally.

BeiN really had some problems with tstv some years back because of premiership matches. My only problem with DStv is the way they repeat programmes

Especially when it comes to sport. Star times is even far better.

I'll say it's a typo but that aside, we also have to consider what DStv as a company is passing through in Nigeria right now, everything is damn expensive even banks, Airlines and billionaire like Tony Elumelu are feeling the pinch. The problem here is that our local competitors aren't serious about content creation hence they can't compete with DStv at all. Apart from that, we're stuck in the old era of one man business instead of transforming to global player, we end up running our businesses like local champions thinking we're the shit until push comes to shove. I heard how HiTv went down and almost wept for a company with bright potentials. People will still patronize DStv no matter what but if we frustrate them out of Nigeria, whoever takes over their assets will destroy the entity in seven years
