Listing the ban will be counterproductive. While I agree that mobile phone aid teaching and learning in a school environment, children and teenagers cannot always be trusted to use it for its intended purposes. Therefore, I will not support the idea.

Browser-enabled mobile phones should be allowed in secondary schools so that they can have some knowledge of sex styles and acts before they turn 18.

If banned, it means that 18 year old thots will be very naive and may start becoming skillful at the ripe old age of 22.

A true teenager should start experimenting by 15 so that by 18, she is skilled.

The developed and technological sound countries that developed mobile phones and internet and every app or architecture behind this hardware are thriving without a ban on these gadgets in their schools.

Black man very dark and black problem na like 5 and 6.... I hope the people that made mobile phones and internet ban nigerians from these things so we can all start cooking and eating ourselves.

As an aside, I try to incorporate a limited liability company a few years ago in the shit hole called nigeria and I was told I have to be a graduate to incorporate a business and I have to bribe to incorporate a business... I laughed and opened a business in Ghana.

The use of mobile phone have become a great source of distraction among students, a lot don’t read anymore , just going on social media platforms and be posting rubbish.

In my own opinion use of mobile phones should be banned among secondary school students.

The use of mobile phones in secondary schools should be prohibited, cos it's a Major source of distraction among students and contributed immensely to the current poor reading culture experienced today. It's also a major culprit as far as moral decadence among juveniles is concerned. If Tertiary institutions like Covenant University can restrict the use of mobile fones, then wetin come be secondary school? My younger brother was even withdrawn from NDA as a 5th termer back in 2011 because he was using a mobile fone ( which was a contraband at that time) so if tertiary institutions can decipher the distractive and harmful influence of those gadgets, why won't secondary schools follow suit, especially when you consider the impressionable nature of these youngsters? At least, it's use should be restricted within the school premises.

For individual students it is a sure distraction but for heaven's sake communication is vital so call rooms must be reinstated where students can make and receive calls in public and under supervision so that parents get early notice when things go wrong.

Communication is a right, not a privilege, internet enabled phones should be banned in our secondary schools

Does phone have low quality type?
You either ban it or not.

Though i'm not an educationist, I know of one private DAY school where the principal just ruled that,
1. If they see your phone, it will be seized till end of school. (discipline)
2. Teachers not allowed to use phone IN CLASS. They can use anywhere. BUT never in class during lessons. (discipline)
3. All students and their parents (Father & Mother) are interviewed face to face before they even admit you into the school to make sure you come from a normal home, otherwise, find your squareroot. (too much madness is already around).
4. One or more teachers visits every student in their house, once a term, to make sure their home is still a normal home with father and mother.
-
Before those laws were stipulated, the school was already going in Chrisland direction. Kids bringing N500,000 Iphone to school when their teachers were still wearing 1 shirt, and using Nokia torchlight.

Those 4 tough rules helped to remove the madness.
One kid came from broken home. The mum thought she has sense. When all the other children were behaving normal, happy with their parents, this kid was sad and jealous and failed. The mum withdrew him. Let them go and find their father and marry back.

I'm honestly surprised to read such comments above. Like what has phones got to do with all they're saying? Schools abroad and even in Asia are trying to fully bring technology into their education system...many of which succeeded... and these ara oko are saying mobile phones should be banned. If there is waywardness among students, it all came from their homes...with the level of insecurities, how can students communicate immediately with home? Oh the school should be the intermediary between the students and parents? So backward! With the already dead education system in this country, why wouldn't people support the ban...there's nothing different or exciting in schools for students to learn that will keep them busy, why won't they wanna go to porn sites. They don't even teach students to think outta the box and make use of the technology in their hands for productive purposes, and here they are saying it should be banned.Lol funny people
Re: Lifting The Ban On No Mobile Phones In High School. YES OR NO??? by EronzRichie(m): 3:50pm On May 12, 2022
It can be a source of distracton to them as they are still 'students' and they might not have that will-power to avoid distracton. But some schools allow specialised Tablet ( i.e materials and applications to aid learning will be installed) that is good.

So I believe giving a 'student' such freedom can be distracting. Except if phone usage is under supervision.

It should not be allowed because there will be lack of concentration during the teaching hours.

Mobile phone has become a necessity in this present age. Rather than outright banning I feel the schools and parents should look for a way to monitor usage.
There's nothing neccessity in the use of mobile phone for high school students

Most of those students carrying phone to school have nothing upstairs. The brilliant ones amongst them don't even have access to it

Yes and No.
Yes because it causes distractions

NO because it can be a good source of knowledge if used for that purpose

I am not acting saying they should use it in school especially during school hours. I just mean they can have one as their own

To start with, we don't have high school in Nigeria. We have secondary school.

Now to your question, it's sad that questions like this still arise in this century. I mean, everything in this life is going digital. Phone is the gateway to such digitalization to most people. In fact,THE USE OF PHONE should be introduced in schools as a subject.

The question of banning phones in secondary schools because of one abuse or the other is like recommending the ban of automobiles because it has killed a lot of people via road crash.

Do you know that phone presents endless opportunities for all and sundry even as a tool for learning? Do you think students would not be as bad as they are if there were no phones?

Since 9;40 till 2;40pm
And the girl's fam would think their daughter was at sch all those while.
Meanwhile the girl was having a better day at my guy's bed......
Make everyone rest jari, phone or no phone who wan spoill go spoil.

It should remain banned. It's distracting and most kids will only end up playing games, watching movies, and listening to music on it.

The use of mobile phone have become a great source of distraction among students, a lot don’t read anymore , just going on social media platforms and be posting rubbish.

In my own opinion use of mobile phones should be banned among secondary school students.

I attended secondary school before mobile phones became a thing, and I rarely read. It is true that mobile phones can be a source of distraction, but we should not forget that it is just one thing out of a nearly endless list of possible distractions. Are we going to ban every possible source of distraction?

Mobile phones can be a major asset to students, and I think the best we can do to help those who are distracted be it is by using mobile phones as a teaching aid. (the aim would be to help them realize how useful those phones are to the learning.)

Phone or no phone, some will still be distracted.

So I think the use of mobile phones should be encouraged rather than banned.
