I came across these two verses in the bible and I don't comprehend, please bible scholars. James 2vs 24 & Roman 3vs 28.

You see that a man is to be declared righteous by works and not by faith alone! James 2:24

For we consider that a man is declared righteous by faith apart from works of law! Romans 3:28

The first verse is talking about trusting in the teachings of Jesus Christ who is the only begotten Son of God {John 3:16} through whom God promised everlasting life! Matthew 17:5
The second verse is talking about trusting in the laws God gave the Israelites which was to guide them until the Messiah (Christ) arrives! Deuteronomy 18:18-19

So whoever ignores Jesus' counsel because he or she is keeping the old covenant that came along with the laws will never be saved {Luke 18:18-23} because God never promised anyone salvation through those laws rather salvation can only come through imitating Jesus' thoughts, words and actions! Galatians 3:19-22

Always look at the context where a word is used....lifting bible verses to make it stand alone will make it lose its meaning...thats why u see people use bible to justify evil doing ...e.g whatever thy hand fimndeth to do..do it well...

The two verse up there are addressing two different things but only using similar words..

James 2v24 addressed how faith will move you to action....u believe in God ...ok...what is showing you belive God ...that was why james said in the same chapter/context...that demons too belive in God....what differentiates you from denons is what you do with your faith....

Romans 3v28 was addressing the romans who after belived the gospel of jesus are still following the 630 laws of torah to attain forgiveness/righteousness/holiness..

he was only telling them that faith in Christ jesus and obeying him rather the doing the works of the old law is what will make them righteous..
