Yes it is a crime and punishable. But keeps happening. Both countries have different forms of racism. The racism in Brazil is more towards social mobility. Brazilian companies don't hire blacks for positions of boss and management. It is very hard for a black Brazilian to ascend socially in Brazil. Brazil have the second largest black population outside Africa after U.S. And black brazilians have a low representation in Brazilian labor market, and Brazilian media and in everything. U.S give more chance for their black population. African Americans occupy positions of power. They are judges, captains, oscar winners, U.S have a lot black billionaires. negative points of U.S... U.S is a very segregated country. They have white neighborhoods and black neighborhoods, white barbershop and black barbershop. In American school whites and blacks have the own group. Exist a lot of hate crimes in America. Whites against blacks and black against whites. Blacks and whites don't "live together". Positive points of Brazil. In Brazil doesn't exist these stupid things. In Brazilian school black and white students coexist with each other. Don't exist groups of whites or groups of blacks. Blacks don't want to live apart whites and whites don't want to live apart blacks. Brazil don't enjoy racial segregation like U.S. Racial segregation is not our culture.
