Good day Nairalands. There's this feeling I've been having lately which has prompted me to seek clarifications.

I had a baby boy early this year which was my first. I was overjoyed as the boy is just a replica of me. Just lately, I've been having this strong feeling that this boy is the reincarnated form of my late father. I don't know why I feel this way or where all this is coming from.

I'm not the religious or superstitious type. I don't even believe in these things. I don't even believe in reincarnation so where could this be coming from?

My father was a military man who died about four years ago. I feel my father whenever I'm holding this boy. I'm not conversant with spiritual things so I just can't place it.

Please, why do I feel this way? It's been on for months. What could responsible for these feelings?

That was the same feeling your father had of his father coming back each time he saw you. It is a natural phenomenon for Africans.There is nothing like Reincarnation.

That feeling is more of a comfort to help soothe your loss.
What to do about it?

Nothing really, just love and care for your son.

African spirituality is not encouraged by Christian and Islamic doctrine/dogma.

Don't do anything. Just flow with it. If your boy is truly your father's incarnate then, as he gets older, he'll start manifesting certain characteristics and behaviours that will confirm it. If he isn't, the feeling will gradually fade away.

Reincarnation is a doctrine of demons.
It's not supported in scripture and contradicts the teachings of Christ, of Christianity.
Your father is now with the Lord, thus whatever presence you feel when holding your son is definitely not him.

I would suggest praying over your baby boy, then enjoy being a Daddy to your carbon copy.
