To celebrate (or mourn) the recent premiere of the live-action Resident Evil series made by Netflix, today we are going to compile the worst moments of the films in this franchise. Why? Because we want and we can.

5: MOTORCYCLE SCENE
For a good portion of the movie, Jill has all the spotlight, but when she's with Terri and Carlos in a church about to be eaten by Lickers, Alice rides a motorcycle through a window, taking down the beasts and sending second shot to what we thought was the most important character in the story.

Alice is the centre of attention, while Jill and the others are just irrelevant sidekicks. This scene, in addition to being absurd and exaggerated, served to bury one of the best protagonists of these video games.

4: INCONSISTENCIES BETWEEN THE FIFTH AND SIXTH MOVIES
The fifth film in the saga is Retribution and it has so many flaws that it is difficult to see it complete, but the ending seems to be to the liking of many. After so many films, I understand that they want to make original stories and not be based on the games, but it is inexplicable that they give the fans a little service with characters like Jill and Leon, and then spit on them and the viewers by doing this kind of thing. To top it off, they did the same thing with Chris, but maybe leave that for another time.

3: ALL OF WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY (MAINLY LEON)
The movies starring Milla Jovovich have successes and setbacks, but at least they can use the card that they are stories outside of video games
Between the poor acting, lousy CGI, terrible execution, and underutilised potential, I can't believe they got this film green lit, but Welcome To Raccoon City could be worse than its predecessors. If it isn't, it's close. Being only one film, it hasn't had that much time to destroy everything that Resident Evil has built in more than 20 years.

2: DEATH OF WESKER
Another of the most recognised video game characters is Albert Wesker. Without a doubt, one of the most remembered antagonists by several generations of gamers thanks to his evil and power, but also because of his great intellect. He always has an ace up his sleeve and is one step ahead of us, so it's unforgivable to blink in his presence.

It is clear that, being the last film, they had to do something to eliminate it, but as many deadly ways they could achieve it, they chose the worst. We'd love for this to be the writers' only slur on the franchise's villains, but our #1 is reserved for the worst of the lot.

1: NEMESIS
In pop culture there are villains so evil that they traumatised several generations of children and adolescents. There are others so bad-ass, that they became feared and respected characters.
I can let go of the fact that a helicopter crushes this powerful bio weapon, because the nuclear explosion would have killed it anyway, what I do not forgive is that there is a scene where Nemesis CRIES. Resident Evil Apocalypse is the poster child for dishonouring one of the most iconic characters in this legendary franchise.
