Julie Plec is one of the most recognizable names in TV show production. From Kyle XY, to Containment, to The Tomorrow People, she’d done it all. With the premiere of The Vampire Diaries in 2009, she cemented her place as one TV producer to look out for. With the Vampire-centric TV show that went on to live for 8 seasons and birth two spin-offs, one would be forgiven for thinking Julie Plec would be done with the subgenre, but they’re wrong.

Meet Vampire Academy…

It’s an upcoming TV show created by Plec and Marguerite MacIntyre. The plot reads thus:

“In a world of privilege and glamour, two young women’s friendship transcends their strikingly different classes as they prepare to complete their education and enter royal vampire society.”

The first episode of Vampire Academy premieres on Sep 15, 2022, on the Peacock streaming service.
