A human right organization, yeah maybe, but there are other human right org that fight against it as well. Therefore, in light of this, it is incorrect to say that an organization is setup to fight for any particular course; rather it's something they feel is logical. In addition, there have been a record of attorneys who have participated in the ligation of some of this cases (pro bono), for instance Theodore Olson, a staunch republican who argued for Bush in the Bush vs Gore Case, personally asked to represent the plaintiff in the CA case in proposition 8, are you saying they were set up for that?

How about our politicians in the legislative cases who argue for this cause? About two or three months ago, President Obama asked the Justice Department NOT to defend DOMA, what do u say to that? While the justice dept is the govt law firm , and if they were setup to argue for the govt who instituted DOMA, if Mr. Obama did not feel a passion to defend rights for these people, why did they not proceed with legal tussle in Federal courts? My point is individual or not, group or not, organization or not, if someone has a conviction about something, regardless of it's outcome, they will defend it.
