A former Inspector General of Police, Mustafa Adebayo Balogun, also known as Tafa Balogun is dead.

Tafa Balogun
The former Police boss died at Reddington Hospital in Lagos.

Mr. Balogun was the Inspector General of Police during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He had issue with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission while Nuhu Ribadu was in charge.

The manner of his arrest drew comment from people as he was handcuffed and embarrassed by the Operatives.

Shortly after his court trial, he went underground and nothing much was heard about him till his demise.

How time flies. I remember his trial. He looted N10 billion police pension money and spent very little time in prison...meanwhile, petty thieves who stole goats, phones and clothes have spent many years awaiting trial in prison (I mean the lucky ones who didn't lynched to death).

His very little time in prison was due to plea bargain, much of the money he stole, returned and properties ceased.
