It has nothing to do with our leaders. Infact in this regard our leaders are still sensitive because we still pay little for tertiary education

Tertiary education isn't cheap anywhere in the world. People will and should pay for it. It is primary and secondary that should be made free and quantitative.

It is the truth we all are running away from

What are you saying? Are those attending public schools not paying their fees?

How come the federal government is owing ASUU or what's the reason for the strike?

It the government can't cater for the needs of her institutions, let them privatize it then.

Strike is not new in Nigeria owned institutions.
It happened during Obasanjo regime around 2001.

May God intervene so that students can resume and go back to school.
Stop calling the name of God in vain. Before thunder strikes you

God to intervene even the FG has blatantly refused to meet with ASUU after the two weeks meeting with Gen Buhari.

And you are hear calling Obasanjo. some of you reason like cockroaches.

FG is not owning ASUU. ASUU wants bigger pay and more funding for the schools.

Yes,I support more and better funding. However the FG can't pay for even it. If better funding is to be done, school fees will be increased to at least 1Million per student which ASUU is kicking against.

So you see now?

If say Buhari removed him, IGBO people for dey "cry faul". Since Godwin Emefele is an IGBO man.
I doubt any igbo man will talk of ethnicity, tribe when it concerns money matter and their pocket. Besides if concern de about that, no be to appoint another igbo man?
Anyway, I don't think igbos are petty,
or deeply tribalistic.

You have a rough idea of what bowen /babcock charges for a course eg, law.
Not really. I was talking of college of medine and college of health sciences...college seen in this news post. The 2 are more expensive than babcock. I have relations who chose bowen for medicine and nursing before they changed their mind and switched to babcock

The universities should be autonomous and self financing. Students will be happy to pay higher fees for the better courses with good international recognition. The FG simply can't fund everything anymore.

when they go Law school and enter NYSC camp, na dat time dem go know say it's na how well, not how far.

Brother, forget the when they go law school or NYSC camp talk. When you're good academically you're good. The only edge they have is the best learning materials made available to them. Good internet, books, and lecturers that must come to class to teach cos that's why you're getting paid. So tell me why you won't perform well when all the needed materials are made available. Most of the lectures come from Fed Unis sef.
Need to inform you that 2 overall best graduating students from law school in the past 5 years came from the private universities.
2017/2018 session - Naomi Uwem - Afe Babalola Uni
2019 session - Mayowa Mubashir Abiru - Babcock Uni
2020 session - COVID year.... could have been merged with 2021...
2021 session - Bukola Alade - UI
2022 session - Not concluded yet.

It's just the honest truth. Until we have a change of our political leaders, only those with plenty money will continue to enjoy this country.
Until we begin to pay more in our universities, ASUU strike will continue. No matter the leader

In as much as it's a marketing strategy, I don't blame them regardless. If not that we have a useless government, how would numerous private universities be springing up like this. How many private universities do you see abroad? Almost non existent. But in Nigeria, any opportunity to make money at the detriment of the masses will be explored.

You need to visit the USA, Japan and many other countries to see the number of private universities.

In fact there are a large number of countries with private universities.
