The African chess community will be hosted by Nigeria come 8th September 2022 in Lagos. Chess federations from across Africa ll be adequately represented and slug it out for a chance to become Africa numero uno. At stake is a chance of earning the Grandmaster title which will be endowed on the winner by FIDE, should he not have the title before the event. Also involved are ladies fighting for glory. WIM (women International master) Jesse February from south Africa is the current reigning champion. Watch this space for more info and build up.
