Vehicles are genuinely bought or imported into the country and registered in line with stipulated requirements by the FRSC and AUTOREG.Details of these Vehicles ie:engine, chassis and plate numbers including details of their owners are then stored in our database as part of the registration process,Surprisingly some of these vehicles are stolen.Engine, chassis and plate numbers are altered and registered at the same FRSC office undetected.MY QUESTION IS THIS.Is is not possible for the Federal Government to liaise with makers of these vehicles and obtain certified production schedules showing year of make, colour, engine and chassis numbers to be stored into our database which would serve as a guide and verification point when registering new vehicles.Any vehicle whose details are not found in the certified copy of production schedule should call for proper investigation. If properly put in place, the method would go a long way in checking the menace of car snatching and theft in our society.People in the house your contributions please.
