One of the most famous women to get involved in racing was Beth Paretta, who founded Grace Autosport and went on to found the Hall of Fame of America. Read on to learn more about her story!

The Hall of Fame of America is dedicated to empowering young girls. It was established in 1997 by Beth Paretta, a former director of SRT Motorsport. Its members come from 47 different countries and include over 4,000 people from around the world. The first women’s auto race took place this past year.

In 2016, Beth partnered with the Global Women’s Economic Empowerment Initiative. (GWEFI), which helps provide loans for upskilling, vocational training, and gender-equitable microenterprise development for young girls at risk of poverty and exploitation in Uganda. She has been awarded three times as Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young Chicago Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Organization, Inc.; American Women Who Lead National Award for Excellence; and Motor Sports Hall of Fame Board Member.

Beth has served on various boards, including those for the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, WellPoint Health Networks Inc. (now Anthem), and Synopsys Incorporated.
Beth received her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

How Did the First Women’s Car Race Take Place?
Beth Paretta is the founder of the Hall of Fame of America, an organization that gives young girls the chance to learn about auto racing through clinics, camps, workshops, and competitions. When she was 16 years old, Beth became aware that there were no women in this particular industry. This year marked the 100th anniversary of the first women’s car race, which was run by a group of female racers from around the world.

When she began working at an animal shelter, she found the topic that really sparked her passion: animals! She continued her engineering education and career at that time. She chose to pursue her childhood love of helping animals and making science accessible to children all around the world after earning a mechanical engineering degree from the California Institute of Technology.

Paretta spent four years working for a nonprofit focused on animal welfare before starting to teach young people about engineering via practical projects.

Later, she founded Grace Autosport, which has now become the voice for women interested in racing all around the world.

. When asked how being on the Board of Directors has helped change things for women in motorsports, she states, “It’s a lot easier now.” We have gone from being on our own to building bridges with manufacturers, and we have some very powerful allies now.

She has also been named one of Forbes’ 10 Most Powerful Women in Sports for the last five years. In 2016, she became the first woman inducted into the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame. In 2017, ESPN ranked her as one of the 100 most powerful people in the sports world.
