Be reminded that the mountaineous terrain of Afghanistan coupled with their guerrilla warfare is capable of giving a good army problems. US and its allies had defeated the Taliban a long time ago. Not wanting to continue risking the lives of soldiers and stopping unnecessary waste of fund was what made them withdraw.
