No country is absolutely free from corruption. Corruption doesn't make a country less developed. Cluelessness and lack of foresight do.
You only get such lame excuses here in Nigeria. Nigeria's problem is a mindset problem. Not corruption. The vast majority are tribalistic and can't see beyond their noses.
The leaders and the people are the same lots. A very insignificant few are different but unfortunately their voices can't be heard.

Nigeria's problem is that our population far outstrips the income we earn from selling our resources...oil being the main one. (No matter how much oil we sell, we can never be like Libya or Saudi...which produce 5-10 times the oil we produce, for populations less than 10 and 40 million respectively...)

Also, we subsidise petrol and power...which affects the capability of the power sector to supply electricity to the nation, and to the industrial sector...which could have provided adequate source of income and job growth for our growing populaiton. Subsides also fuel a lot of the corruption and waste. Free government money. Finally, subsides eat up a lot of our income because it actually costs a lot to subsidise. (and we don't pay for subsides with tax revenue....and we don;t restrict subsides to the very very poor...as sane countries do)

Even the Russia people are going through very rough times and they are not happy with war with Ukraine.
