French toast is a breakfast favorite, but it can be hard to get right since the bread varies in texture. For example, some breads are dense and will soak up too much liquid while others are light and dry out too quickly. But don’t let that stop you! In this article we’ll show you how to make the perfect French toast every time and why it’s such an important dish in our home.

Mix together eggs, cinnamon, vanilla extract and milk in a wide, shallow bowl.
In a large bowl, combine eggs, cinnamon, vanilla extract, milk, and enough water so that when you put in your bread slice it will soak into every little crevice.

Dip bread into egg mixture, soaking bread thoroughly but being careful not to let it become soggy.
To make sure that your bread doesn’t get soggy, dip it into the egg mixture and hold it there for a few seconds. Then remove the bread and place it on a plate or baking sheet. Don’t let it sit in the mixture too long; this will cause your french toast to become dry and hard.

Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat
Heat the butter in a skillet over medium heat. The butter should be hot enough to sizzle when you sprinkle it into the pan, but not so hot that it burns before you can flip your bread. If using a non-stick pan, use one with an ovenproof handle; if not, use one that has been seasoned with oil and is well-seasoned (and wipe away any excess).
