Good morning all,

I know the decision of the Appeal Court has left many of us devastated, demoralized, confused and discouraged but in all, there will always be light at the end of the tunnel.

We are not surprised at the decision of the court because from the out set, I read the hand writing on the wall by the level of impunity.

We shall henceforth:

1. The strike will be suspend, so as to enable us to appeal the ruling of National Industrial Court.

2. Members should endeavour to visit their offices.

3. Show lukewarm attitude towards teaching students.

4. Don't go extra miles for providing best teaching materials for students.

5. Only teach the approved number of students.

6. Only supervise the approved number of students.

7. Work for only the approved duration. No more overload of courses.

8. Ensure that laboratory practicals are conducted only for the approved number of students.

9. We will insist on payment of backlog of salaries before any teaching will be done

10. If (9) is refused, insist that the university's management should release admission list for 2022/2023 session and lecture timetable. Begin lectures for the new session and ignore backlog of sessions. If university administration refuses to do that, ASUU members should occasionally stroll to their offices and warm the chairs, sign any register tendered by the administration mass. By doing this, we have obeyed the court's other to suspend strike. When students are back and lectures are not holding because we can't attend to backlog of lectures based on FG's refusal to pay backlog of salaries,
possibly parents and the students themselves will take over from ASUU in the protest

11. The era of 11,000 - 13,000 admissions has come to an end. As you are all aware, our teaching facilities can only accommodate 5,000 students. We will compel university management and JAMB to admit only 5,000 students.

12. Those with administrative responsibilities especially Dean's & HODs should stop using their personal money to run the system.

13. Those going for external examinations should only participate after they are fully paid. Remember the remaining part of the allowance has persistently been pending since 2009.

14. Stop using our computers to do university work. We can all queue up to use the computer in the exam office (since it is the only one provided by the university). The waiting time will definitely be long before it gets to our turn to use it, but why worry.

15. Where we are forced to teach an overpopulated class, we should mark, submit and consider result for only the number of student approved by the University law.

16. Stop carrying the burden of the system on us beyond what the law says. Remember the excess work we've been doing (whose allowance we've earned and is yet to be paid since 2009).

What have achieved now? I just want to know because if it is still the same old story, then what is the essence of the strike?

Is this really from ASUU?

ASUU is not serious at all. They should try any of those things stated in that list and face the consequences esp now that FG has broken their monopoly.

They said they wont touch the backlog of work until they are paid salaries for the 7 months they were on strike. Was it FGN that stopped them from working? No. So ASUU should prepare to handle the pile of work they left behind. Next time, they will learn to use the NIC when dealing with the FGN since they claim to be highly learned.

And again. ASUU should stop using students as hostages in their battle with the FG.
