People want to fly from airports where there is improved efficiency and state-of-the-heart facilities, no extortion etc. More so, travelers from Lagos alone cover more than 50% of travelers using MMA and bulk of these travelers who are FREQUENT travelers are from notable neighborhoods like, Ikoyi, Lekki and its environs, Eko, Surulere-Ojuelegba, Ikeja, Anthony/Gbagada/Magodo/Omole/Festac/Apapa/Akoka/Yaba.

If Lagos is able to finish 4th Mainland Bridge and construct more access and inner roads within that axis, there would be less congestion on the road.

They need private investors to invest in light electric trains and trams in that area, although it may be a bit expensive to construct due to the nature on the land in that area. They may need to raise the rails over the ground majorly in flood-prone and water-lodge areas. The investor must also have its own independent power source. It is good Lagos State Government includes rail roads for trains and trams in the design of its 4th Mainland Bridge to that Ikorodu and Epe can be linked up with easily.

I agree with all of these points, but the truth is we know Lagos State Government cannot afford to pay for all these projects, even with loans.
4th mainland bridge and Lekki Airport are just portfolio projects designed to make it look they are doing stuffs.
The light rail has taken 16 years and it’s still on the incomplete project list.
I believe it’s just electioneering impulse.

Lagos has over the years been working on a blue print since 2008. Ehingbeti is a product of that. You cannot disassociate BAT from these laudable projects in lagos. He has always been one of the brains behind the developments in lagos state. The more reason why he should replicate same at the federal level.
So lets vote him to move Nigeria forward.

FDI and private investment is low in Nigeria because the government keeps breaching terms of the contract. Policy inconsistency is horrible.
The only people spending in Nigeria are the Chinese, and that’s because they designed a FDI framework that enriches Chinese firms and creates employment for Chinese nationals in foreign countries.
They don’t bring in the funds agreed. They use it to employ their nationals and export them to Nigeria, denying Nigerians knowledge transfer. They buy only Chinese equipment for the projects creating sales for Chinese companies. When done, they give us a debt bill to pay over years.
That’s no longer FDI.
No private investor is willing to touch Nigeria currently.

Without a vision, the people perished. Investors will come. What has prolonged development in Lagos is because we are not practising true federalism. Lagos has no full control over major factors of governance as it is done in US.

It is good the blueprint for development is in place. Subsequent government would work on the implementation. Badagry Port Development Limited was established long time ago. The vision for Lekki Airport has been a private initiative since 2008. It might take time, investors will come and the project will take off.

These projects are not political projects. Sanwoolu was among the team that travelled to China with Tinubu when Tinubu was planning for the development of Lekki Free Trade Zone. Today, he is the governor. He was the MD of LSPDC that entered agreement with Tony Elumelu for the redevelopment of Falomo Shopping Centre to meet the master plan. He is around to bring the partnership to fruition to kickstart the project. This is what vision can do.

You are 100% correct. The Chinese in connivance with men in power also inflate contracts by about 200%. They will now say they are giving a grant of 100% to Nigeria as a support from Chinese government. Nigeria is now required to pay for half of the total cost. In reality, that half payment from Nigeria covers the total cost of the project with profit.

Lagos should ensure federal agencies keep their filty hands out of the management of the airport. They can hire professionals to run the place. Customs, immigrations that will be there should be Seconded and given special training etc. Mm2 style of doing things and its filt must not be allowed there.
