The air of excitement that greeted to expected calling off of the almost eight months strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) seems to be evaporating fast as indications have emerged from the striking lecturers that the strike may still go on.

Nigerians leapt for joy after they were greeted with a report early on Tuesday that the union had called off the strike, the joy was however short-lived as the union debunked the report while insisting that the strike was still in place pending when all the parties involved have signed the required agreement.
