3.9m For 2005 Corolla: Is It Really Worth It? by nsivic2001: 3:35pm On Oct 12, 2022
I just wanted a small car to meet up with my day to day mobility needs, and after much deliberation and consultations, I was told that Toyota Corolla 2003-2005 will be good enough. But my car agent told me that currently, the car current prize in the market is worth 3.9m. I don't want to doubt him cos he knows much about this car stuff better than I do.
But I just want to ask; is it worth it, spending that much for a 2005(almost 17yrs old) car?. And also what are the available alternatives to it?

Don't u know the economy is getting worse and hence crimes will be on the increase?
And this corolla na thief magnet already.

Forget corolla, don't be carried away by the slang 'e no dey chop fuel'

You will be tired of that car within few weeks of purchase except this is your first car

you need to stop exhibiting ignorance and learn. Custom duty for that corolla is 850k. That corolla costs like $2k at auction inclusive of fees. Trucking may cost around $500 or more depending on location. Shipping is between $1300 and $1500 depending on port of loading. At the current exchange rate, total is 4.3m without repairs and profit. Be the judge.

Funny enough that’s the price of the car. It’s around 3.5-3.9m

It’s a known fact that automobiles are getting more expensive because of various factors that have made it it so.

It’s not the car dealers fault, he needs to recoup a reasonable profit from the car sale to keep his business running.

My take is, if you are going to spend that much on a car, let it not be a corolla, because when the car starts being boring to you, you will hiss all day.

You can add small money and get an 07 Camry or a Lexus Es 330.

It’s all about value for money here and not the price.

The truth is, before you can get any good toks vehicle now in Nigeria you should be looking at between 3.8m, 4m and upwards.

Is not bad in accounting there is what is called replacement cost. It has to be sold at the current price do that the dealer can buy another one to keep the business going after selling his current stock.

I used to talk ignorantly like the person you quoted until someone explained it to me the way you just did. I used to say that about fuel prices and the old stock. Lol
