Could this be as a result of the cbn plan to change currency or a mere coincidence?

Lol

This is what we have been trying to tell some foolish and shortsighted idiots here that these corrupt politicians and kidnappers that have been hoarding naira will be forced to start throwing it around as they can’t deposit it in the bank and some fools are here arguing.

Tinubu, Atiku and co, who packed money to buy votes will be choked; together with their BATstards.

See as 2007 naira note fine.

Because hoarding the dollar equivalent of the naira would give them away. They don't care about the exchange value, they get the naira like a land flowing with milk and honey. Converting the stash to dollar might make most BDCs close shop. Our minds cannot conceive how much of our Commonwealth politicians plunder per second. If most of us knew, none would campaign for any politician.

What are you even saying? When did you begin to support anything Buhari's govt does? What would it take those people to change their so-called hoarded naira into dollar? Is that not why naira is currently plummeting as we speak?

If the currency is still durable, divisible, portable and accepted as a means of legal exchange, then there is nothing wrong with. A currency reformation is not what Nigeria needs in these era of economic meltdown as the cost implications is just too huge.

Nna mehnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

I have been thinking that the announcement is meant to scare those people and the politicians who wants to buy votes with the money they are hoarding and force them to bring it out and they are not gonna do away with the current currency but even if they will print any new money it's not gonna be much

It’s a tricky one…

How would you wanna change 100million naira to dollar and you wanna pay in cash?

That Bureau De Change you are going to pay 100million cash to, how would he deposit it without running into trouble?

I’m not a Buhari supporter but that does not mean I won’t support a good policy of his.

I’m not brainless.

I’m not like you people that criticize Obi even when he’s right.

If you buy dollar and pay me cash, how will I deposit it?

Probably because they're daft! We don't exactly have genuises stealing our commonwealth you know! Someone that can steal billions of naira at a go, can equally go steal a couple of billions more if the value of the one he hoarded in his bedroom devalues!

This policy is smart move... especially to curb insecurity, money laundering and also hamper vote buying..

Yes, Naira will fall against the dollar..very deep fall at that....but, will be strengthened at the long run... because, those who are quick to buy Dollar now...will start looking for Naira soonest...as the Banks will not allow them to exchange dollar for Naira.

Already, withdrawing Dollar from your personal domiciliary account is herculean task right now.

If you are talking of billions I may agree with you a bit. But 100million come on. 2 million go to 50 different BDC or 5 million with 20 BDC. You can get it all done within 3 weeks.
