What does these VCs and their senate do with the money generated by the universities? They go back to fight with the Fed Govt over funding after collecting huge sums as fees from students, what is happening in our universities? The federal government should set up a committee to probe how funds generated by our universities are spent, anyone found wanting should be tried and sent to jail if found guilty by the court of law.

When the next administration hands off university as Buhari has insinuated. UNN will charge a fee much more than covenant university currently does. ASUU has endeavored to ensure this is not the case. Majority of ASUU members are currently in debt, others have had to remove their children from schools, families have had to change neighborhoods as they cannot afford rent; in all of these, but ultimately, Ngige has broken the union’s spirit and now there is none to protect the students from what is to befall them.

the issue of school fees has to be really talked about in this country

In other countries student graduate with student loans and many years after graduation they are still gradually repaying this loan

Only in Nigeria will UNILAG secondary school fees will be higher than the university, same as Yabatech

and I'm sure it's the same for most government unis

What then can the govt boast of giving to it's citizens?

So apparently the school's administration (VC) had planned for it to be 150k but after meetings with the Students Affairs Department it was reduce to 115k.

But still yet students protested that it's high.

From speculations it's alleged that the school wanted a 50% increase but made it 100% so when the students protest it will now be reduced to the initial 50%.

When ASSU was on strike, instead of the students union to come out n support ASSU them keep quiet, now d thing don dey reach them small small,n eventually it is the parents that il suffer for it, a good govt il favour all, but a bad govt like this APC govt il cause havoc, suffering, depression, hunger for Nigerians, through rank n file, like those jumping to their deaths cus of frustration, everyone il feel their incompetency , wickedness, calousness , no love for those they rule n the country. They just want to fill their pockets. Lecturers were on strike n instead of listening to them u make it a u vs them, ok when the students fill the streets we il know how u il make it a u vs them.

I dey even fear to come nairaland cuz its full of bad news.
