DSTV is still working. I use MTN and subscribed on Monday with my N8.

I got an sms from TN this morning "DSTV Mobile apoligizes for the recent connection issues and would like to offer you a goodwill token. For details, visit sss.dstvmobile.com or call 01-4484047"

I visited the site and it said that due to those connection/subscribing problems, DTSV is giving free subscription till from February 8th to March 8th.

This is true. I wasn't charged a dime for my last 2 Maxi subscriptions.

Its been so since 2weeks ago, i subscribed 2weeks ago and last week,it was free, if ur touch screen s60v5 nokia like 5800,n97 etc cant subscribe now,let me know and i'll tell u what to do

the only problem is that u wont be able to watch africa magic and africa magic yoruba movies unless they are showing just documentries or music videos on these channels, but if its movies,it willl always ask for parental codes
my friend has been using the n96 since last year to view all channel with out parental code problem until i updated it,now ont the n96 mobile tv options ,u will see "get parental code online" and if u click on it,it will give u an error message, i have tried all code i know and its not working,it will work if i change the product code to a generic code and update again using pc. if u have the phone and its locked to a network e.g 3 network, orange,Tmobile etc, dont update yet,i know this problem will definately affect the big brother channel.

i discovered that people who own touch screen nokia phones and the receiver or headset cant subscribe,if they have the touch screen mobile or live tv apps installed on their phone.
on sunday my friend came to my place complaining that his n97 live tv is not working again, i deleted and ibstalled it many times,still didnt work,i tried subscribing to all packages and it still didnt work,he even brought a nokia 5800 too and it has the same problem with the n97 , so i uninstalled the s60v5 mobile tv apps and installed the one for s60v3 and it worked but it dosent have full screen o!!! so if u are finding it difficult to subscribe with touch screen s60v5 phones, use the one for s60v3

I was finally able to subscribe but I was fully charged for the service.

You need to install the file and update via Nokia Store for it to be fully functional.

Pls.does the nokia SU-33W receives the local tv channel,you know? Like AIT, MITV among others. Or is it strictly for DSTV channels? I need advice on this before swapping my N96 to N97.

Thanks a lot aeromon but i already got that version with these other ones: 201577, 3.2_1.1.0, even tried some of the s60 versions and it wont install on my N8 (recently upgraded to belle, cant believe what i've been missing, belle makes the phone completely different man, i was seriously disappointed with the Nokia N8 and was contemplating getting an android until i upgraded, nokia is still the best) keeps saying update error even the one at the store. ceejay dont just bone. input something joo

In that case,I suggest you uninstall and do the three-finger salute to format the phone and wipe out all Mobile TV files.Download from the Nokia store and install after which you can update.

its same channels u get on ur n96 only that the su-33w has great reception or should i say 100 time better than n96 in terms of dvb-h tv reception

Nokia N95 is not compatible with DVB-H reception.
