Republican Nikki Haley On 2024 Run For President: 'Do I Think I Could Be that Leader? Yes.'

Republican Nikki Haley said she could be the next president of the United States during an interview with Fox News.

“Do I think I could be that leader? Yes,” Haley said, dropping a major hint that she likely may enter the race. “I’ve never lost a race,” she added.

Haley is the former governor of South Carolina as well as the United Nations Ambassador.

"When you’re looking at a run for president, you look at two things," Haley explained. "You first look at 'does the current situation push for new?'"

"The second question is, 'am I that person that could be that new leader?'" she continued.

"You know, on the first question, you can look all across the board, domestic, foreign policy. You can look at, you know, inflation going up, economy shrinking, government getting bigger, you know, small business owners not being able to pay their rent."

"Big businesses getting these bailouts, all of these things warrant the fact that, yes, we need to go in a new direction," Haley said.

"So do I think I could be that leader? Yes, But we are still working through things and we'll figure it out," she added.

"I've never lost a race. I said that then I still say that now. I’m not going to lose now," she added.

Former President Donald Trump has officially announced that he is running for the 2024 Republican nomination for president.

Trump also released his "national greatness agenda" which includes several new policy proposals, including changes to voting laws, border security, term limits, and a ban on lobbying.

Trump also announced his support for the death penalty for drug dealers, abolishment of critical race theory in schools, ending all COVID-19 mandates, and placing an American flag on Mars.

"In order to make America great and glorious again," Trump said. "I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States."

"But just as I promised in 2016, I am your voice," he continued. "I am your voice. The Washington establishment wants to silence us, but we will not let them do that. What we have built together over the past six years is the greatest movement in history because it is not about politics."

"It's about our love for this great country, America, and we’re not going to let it fail," said Trump.

For voting laws, Trump vows to push for the requirement of voter IDs, same-day voting, and only paper ballots.

For border security, Trump proposes adding more wall to the southern border.

"We built the wall and now we will add to it. Now, we built the wall. We completed the wall, and then we said let's do more. We did a lot more. As we were doing it, we had an election that came up," he said. "When they came in, they had three more weeks to complete the additions to the wall, which would've been great. But they said 'No, we're not going to do that."
