Singer, Paul Okoye of the P-Square group, has slammed the Nigerian senate for merely pretending to be spokemen for the masses regarding the deadline for the old Naira notes.

According to Punch, The Senate last Tuesday asked the Central Bank of Nigeria to extend the deadline for the exchange of old naira notes from the January 31 deadline to May 31, 2023.

The Senate also urged the CBN to open an exchange window where people that don’t have bank accounts can deposit their old notes.

Most of those senators still have the old currency stashed at their houses. They thought they could convince Buhari or Emefiele to extend the deadline but have seen the impossibility of that and now, they pretend to be speaking for the common man whereas they are actually speaking for themselves.
