The face off between the Drivers union and students of Eksu enters second day as student locks the university gate. The face off is due to the sudden increment in transport fare which the drivers linked to high cost if petrol. The drivers started the fracas yesterday when some drivers started beating their colleagues who didn't follow the agreed amount of 300 naira from Ado to EKSU campus. Hundreds of students were left stranded yesterday when the commuters refused to work and also prevented other motorists to convey the students to Ado including Okada and Keke Napep! As at the time of filing this report the gates of Eksu are firmly locked with students and lecturers locked out. Akoto buses are being arrested and made to stop work by the students!! # Effects of Fuel!! |
