Remember Op said Research Analysis not Data Analysis. How do you test your data for stationarity, Normality. Build GMM, ARDL Models (used by NBS for forecast) with R and Python (It's not impossible, but the knowledge is limited on this side of the world). Eviews and STATA are ready-to-use routines in that regard.

As a rule of thumb, Most canned tools (Proprietary tools) are more limited in functionality than their open source equivalents. For obvious reasons.

For a start, you need to be grounded in basic information technology, Economics, basic mathematics, Finance and academic writings.

You need to be very good in content writing and editing, proofreading and sometimes translation.

As a research analyst and content writer, that's what I do for people. Write Articles, blog posts, scientific journals, explain study notes, write ebooks for people.

My area of expertise is Blockckchain Technology, Crypto, Business & startups, Data science and Cyber security.

As a research analyst, you need to have an area of expertise you can work or write on. You need to have domain expertise and experience in those fields before you can apply for jobs.

It's mostly not about you but what clients or companies want from you. You need to be adaptable to switch your knowledge to their needs.

Go to upwork and search for research analyst jobs. You will see employers posting what they require from them.

Use that as the basics of your study.

Go for a Postgraduate certificate in Data analysis in any Canadian university

You will become hot cake.

I am a data/research analyst. You need a good grasp of Matlab and R to thrive in this field. Matlab is often used for mathematical modelling and numerical analysis while R is popular for statistical learning and Analysis.
R has virtually all the libraries under the sun you can think of for conducting any statistical analysis you can think of because the tool is open source.This merit gives it an edge over other domain specific tools like evews and stata

I have not created a profile yet, I just want the whole lowdown before I begin. It's that payment aspect I don't know much about because I was thinking of paypal but someone told me that personal paypal in Nigeria doesn't work I really appreciate your king words of encouragement as I want to do something nice in life.

Learn excel to a very advanced level, after that then progress to power BI after knowing power BI to a mad level then conclude the skill acquisition with R or SaaS... then you are accomplished.

If you want to add a demonic touch then add machine learning, and quantum Computing.

After these skills are achieved, you can call yourself a metaphysical analyst... nothing go fit pass your power.
