On a serious note, the Nigerians are actually the victims but ignorance is no excuse. My cousin was almost involved but got lucky her application to another school in Texas sailed through after initially being told that the wait list was 2 years.

That is how it suppose to be. They have the right to defend themselves and they are innocent until proven guilty but must employers will have suspend you until the investigation is over. The whole scam will change their lives for the worse cos they get charge with a felony, you lose your license, can't work no more and if your employer is petty, they can sue you to court asking you to refund all your wages because you was never qualified to receive those wages.

I am also curious why they called it forgery. What happened was that these schools advertised training programs that are more flexible than in-state programs targeting prospective applicants in competitive states like Texas where people sometimes have to be on 3 or 4 years wait-list before admission.

They actually get trained via a combo of online and residential modules. The issue is that they were never accredited for what they were doing because an accredited nursing program has rigid clinical work requirements which they couldn't provide.

Ignorance and desperation made immigrants their biggest preys.

It’s true. The schools were in Florida but many of the their “graduates” work in other states because they moved to New York to take the NCLEX. New York lets you take it as many times as possible so they kept doing it for years until like 30% of them passed. I think their low pass rate was what triggered the investigations

But I believe there must be other nationals involved as well. But trust they will use the immigrants as scape goat

The main culprits, (the founders of the 3 school involved have all be arrested),
We are sure all the almost 8000 involved may not know the schools where founded fraudulently with mischief.

We are sure the students not involved or do not know anything about the frauds of the owners of the school will be set free in due time, BUT they may lose their licenses and all the almost $20,000 we heard they paid.
