Op try Empley manoeuvre. You can google it and watch the YouTube video. I once had tinnitus and that solved my problem. You could also check your cholesterol level.
Try see an ENT doctor as well

@Kpakpakpa and others, help is on the way, ensure to carefully read my entire writeup.

Please and please don't remove that Auditory nerves o. shocked shocked Regardless of the age of your tinnitus, you can still relieve the symptoms from 10-100%. Yes, all and you'll have a blissful night sleep. Mercy Johnson also made a great mistake by removing her Thyroid gland. Anything and everything on this planet can be CURED, except death. Yes! I will always stand by that!

Don't let the some of the failings of modern medicine condemn you to a life of unwanted noise.

If your tinnitus is subjective (i.e caused by noise, ear infection, drugs, or other unknown cause etc) congrats you're on your way to a swift healing.

But if it's objective that is, the Doctor or anyone else can ear it, then you may want to check for heart conditions and other issues.

Let me repeat, TINNITUS, can be CURED 100%, I'm a living testimony and others who've tried the method below.

First off, you should up your Zinc intake from both naturals and pills. For naturals, eat beef liver (one of the best superfood on the planet!), Fishes, beans, milk, egg etc. For supplements, go to a big pharmacy and ask for Zinc (50-100mg). Then take it everyday.

You know why you should take Zinc?
The ear is one of the organs with the largest concentration of Zinc in the body. Depletion of Zinc causes tinnitus, and increasing it's intake helps relieve tinnitus resulting from other means including Zinc depletion.

Also, excess Zinc would be safely disposed off by the body. This should be combined with the second method.

The second method will blow your mind off, and it's the most effective!
The answer is good, old ONION or it's cousin GARLIC. These two are the most potent remedy we know to fight Tinnitus and ear infections to the core.

Yes, #100 worth of onion or garlic maybe all it takes to free you from this condition forever. Don't let anyone consign you to a life of misery because they believe it's incurable.

Don't be scared. You can use this in three ways, however, before use, ask someone to check your ear drums with a flashlight, if it's not perforated, then continue; if perforated, allow it to heal for 2-3 weeks.

Method 1
1. Remove the old back, cut the onion, grate it, and squeeze the juice. Then with a teaspoon, bend and expose the affected ear upwards and put two-three drops in it, and cover it with cotton wool to retain the juice inside. It might feel cold, but your body will adjust to it. Change every 6-8 hours. Though it's best done in the night.

Method 2
2. Cut the onion in ring shapes (if its too long, you may slice in half), take one ring and insert into the ear and ensure it slightly touches the ear drum, with the other part of the ring sticking out, then go to sleep.

Method 3
3. Put the onion in a hot, dry pot, and roast for 2 mins. Thereafter, you remove from the fire. Onion gets heated easily, so you may want to use a very clean cloth. Cut in half, and wrap with a clean cloth. Then take it close to the affected ear and let the steam penetrate the ear.

Use any of the methods consistently, and your Tinnitus will go away in no time.

If you prefer garlic, I'll give you it's formula too.

For everyone suffering from Tinnitus, start the aforementioned process ASAP, and get total relief from Tinnitus. Tried and tested by me and others.

ALSO: If your work does not demand for earpiece, please do away with it during this period, and 2 more weeks after the treatment. It'll be worth it at the end. In addition, don't forget to come update this thread thereafter.

Please what does old onion looks like?

I've had the same experience. It's like a ringing which makes one unable to concentrate. Just go to an ENT hospital, the doctors will know what to do.
What they did for me was to clear my wax and after the whole thing, my ear was clearer and better.
And please don't use eardrop or cotton bud.

Good to see Nigerians owning up to this health problem..... Even generator sound ( apart from the soot that causes other health problem) is one source of the problem apart from giving other health problems beyond Tinnitus.

This washing of ear is good, but not suitable for everyone as some complain of being hard of hearing following it.

Tinnitus can linger for many years and could just gradually ease off with some lifestyle changes( including not usings ear piece often, not putting on generator set often, not being in a crowded and loud/ noisy place) and change of environment eg relocating to a more peaceful place.

Mine happened because I was ( without option) in a very noisy crowd..... One ear and hurts me whenever I suddenly hear a loud sound and lingered for many years .... The change of environment and ear drops, cleaning of my ear( not often) helped too: Make sure it is a clean, cotton bud......Ear washing should be the last option( medically) before opting for any other major medical option.

The ear flushing procedure is actually warm water with sterile liquid in it and with a big syringe like tool, used to remove obstructive stuff( germs laced) from the inner ear

Sorry about, bro.

Kindly discuss with your ENT specialists if they can do Round and Oval Window Reinforcement surgery, which is safer and relatively simpler that the Neurectomy you were contemplating.

Also, there are some experimental studies that found drugs like Carbamazepine somewhat effective in some patients. You can discuss that with your doctors too.

I wish you all the best
All these trial-and-error drugs are what landed op in his current situation.

1. I personally would not recommend trying to treat it with any drugs or whatever else is out there because doctors are in fact yet to understand the exact mechanism by which the sounds we hear are created. So it makes no sense to engage in that which might further exacerbate the problem. undecided
Thanks a lot.

I want to thank the mods for giving my thread the needed publicity.
I thank all nairaland community for the support and contribution on that thread. There was no banter, discussion was issue based and the sanity on that thread was amazing, I can't remember a thread that I read recently that is so straight forward like that.
Me that was looking for a way is now confronted with many that I'm finding it difficult to choose from. Thank you nairaland

The suggestions were amazing and cool, I will highlight some here.

1.Looking for NGO'S
A nice idea to be frank. The links that were sent to me was also cool but most of those organization are based outside the country and it will take time for them to reply. And my situation needs a kind of urgent attention. Mind you, I can be managing the tinnitus but the hyperacusis is what is disturbing me.

2. Meeting men of God.
This is also a nice idea cuz I believe in the power of God but I don't want to toll that line again for now. First I don't have the funds to be traveling and other things required. I'm open to visiting as many as possible if someone can move me to the place, I have spent enough in seeking miracle and I know the cost involved.
3. Hearing aid.
This is not good for me, I have tried hearing aid on many occasions but the results is always negative. Now that the noise in my ear is even louder, I don't know how that will help me. Moreover the cost is high, I check and saw a receipt of one I did in 2014 at BSA for 12,500 and believe it will more than that now.
4.Youtube videos.
I'm using a small phone and will not be able to view it now.
5.self medication.
I won't try this, a certain moniker explain how to use onions in my ear so clearly that I was tempted to try it but quickly remember how one man said I should use olive oil which ended up staying in my inner ear for months cuz according to a doctor, my ear drum was not good so everything just went and settled in my inner ear.
6. Diet.
Many specialist mention this to me but getting food to eat now is difficult not to take of a balance diet. I know some of the things I needed to be taking to improve my health but they are beyond me. If I eat twice a day, that will be a nice to me. So I can't follow this route too

My plan
I'm going with the option of getting a surgery, a nairalander promise to get me a ear bud for the meantime. I'm greatful to him. Another nairalander also instructed me to get an estimate of the cost of surgery and get back to him. Now immediately I get the ear bud, I will go back to town and made more research, I just hope I can get the buds on Monday so that I will travel to town on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, I have looked up necc Kaduna online and they seems good to me just that there online presence is near to none. I appeal to anyone around who will have time to help me make enquiries there. If I had money, I would have travel to Kaduna myself.

Lastly, to those sending me mails, I will be replying them but not fast cus I always borrow a phone to access my email. I prefer text messages on the number on my signature.
My condition is really bad right now but I don't want to start begging people for now. But I believe help will come my way soon. I need every prayer and kind words right now more than ever, reading them alone always make me feel better. Thank you nairaland

Note: Those calling my line are not helping me at all, if you want to hear from, just drop a message and I will reply you ASAP
The calls are unnecessary

@OP i understand how u’re feeling and i can tell u’re not alone on this and am sorry u’re going through such. if i may ask, did experienced some symptom like:

Aural fullness/ear fullness.
discomfort & pain from sound “hyperacusis”.
unable to understand word or discriminate speech from word “diplacus”.
Brain fog.
Neck pain/stiffness.
face/ear pressure.
always been dizzy.
balance problem like u cant work straight without light.
vertigo.
sensitivity to light or double vission with light.
Rotational and spinning vertigo which feel like ur the world is moving round u.

suggesting to conduct a surgery on the nerve either through “suboccipital craniotomy” for acoustic neuroma or neurectomy to remove all nerve part, i can assured that after the surgery, your tinnitus will always be there based on the experienced of patient who had done such surgery in usa. The tinnitus u are hearing is from ur brain not the ear. it’s ur brain that is creating the sound to replace the loss frequency hz in which u can no longer hear and it will still adjust and filter the noice after a very long time. by default every mammal have tinnitus and as u aged or exposed to too much loud noise or viral infection like “herpes simplex” can damaged ur inner hair cell and the more ur hearing become less sensitive, then u will start hearing the tinnitus

Its called Cochlear implant and is also done in Nigeria. Contact Necc kaduna for more information
Cochlear implants cost 7 million Naira or more in Nigeria. These devices allows deaf people to receive and process sounds and speech. However, they do not restore normal hearing.

HEARING LOSS AND TINNITUS

Trial and error can harm the ear and cause delay in treatment.

You can treat this with hbot. Recovery is faster for those who start early.
Something must work if nothing works.
It is worth trying when ever it is available. Recovery depends on the level of damage in the ear. Delay causes more damage and no way to determine how long treatment will take. They keep on trying until the desired result is achieved.

When oxygen supply to the structures of the inner ear increases many patients begin to notice improvement.

Please read through the writeup from experts physicians using hbot to treat tinnitus and hearing loss.
We are hyperbaric Oxygen therapy (hbot) providers.

Greetings siri
I visit a doctor and explained everything to him.
He put a solution in my ears(meth spirit i think) and later put olive oil. He then wrote some drugs to buy which i did for 11730naira.
I also ordered a ear bud which cost 16k according to the doctors instruction(he made me stand directely opposite to a high speed running fan and i noticed that i can hear the sound the fan was producing and kind of reduce the one inside my ear) the ears buds will arrive here tomorrow.
Then he said that i must go for magnetic resornance imagine and other tests in kaduna asap coz my condition is rare. According to him, the kind of surgery i need can not be done like that except the test required are carried by professionals. And the test will cost me from 150-250k before anyone can tell me what next.
About the surgery, he said i can do a local one here around 8million depending on the problem or i can spend more 25million to travel out which is highly recommended.
