The Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Thursday, confirmed the arrival of the first set of stranded Nigerians in Sudan at the Aswan border in Egypt.

Dabiri-Erewa, who confirmed the development in a post on Twitter, said the border was already closed when the students got there, adding that they would proceed to the airport in the morning.

β€œThe first set has arrived at the Aswan border in Egypt but the border is already closed. They will leave early in the morning and then proceed to the airport,” the tweet read partly.

This was as the Federal Government on Thursday said that the Nigerian Air Force, Air Peace and other airlines had received clearance to fly to Egypt to pick up stranded Nigerians.

Those people saying Nonsense when these students spoke out need brain check.

How can you say is it the govt that sent you there?

Are you normal?

Well most of them are in their comfort zones.

These same sets of people will relocate because of armed robbery attack in their area.

War is WAR. Who do you count on when you have a country?

If those students bring honour to Nigeria by virtue of study. This government will first congratulate them.

The same people will not ask who sent you there.

We need to fight corruption from our lifestyles

Not just govt.

1500 students

Rent bus- per trip est 1000 dollars
49 per bus
1500/ 49 = 30 buses
30x 1000= 30000USD
No feeding
No mosquito nets
No pads for women
No drugs
No clinic
No clothes

In Egypt free airlift to naija

Where does the remaining 1.1 million usd go.

Bulaba
Grab it
And run with it

All of us ,including agbados , should be grateful to obidients for putting the government on their toes even if they won't benefit from the positive results of their criticism directly.

It is safe to say most of these people obidients have fought to ensure they are rescued didn't vote in the same pattern of obidients but still , obidients still loves them all.

We need to work on our ignorance especially in public space. Our discussion should be educative and knowledgeable. Someone posted something yesterday that FG use 1.2m dollar to hired 40 buses. The amount is for total evacuation which includes Buses fare, flights, accommodation and feeding.

Which Egypt?
Even Egyptians are still trying to move to Libya to earn money
Egypt is dead for now and moving from Egypt to Israel is worst than going from Libya to Italy.
If you are catch by Egyptian patrols then, you will work in jail till you make enough money to deport yourself.
Or the chances of Israeli patrol killing you is over 80%

They travelled through a warzone. Naturally prices went up.

I know, government is corrupt, and this APC government is very bad corrupt, but the guys were traveilling through a warzone, with lots of checkpoints, and with the potential of several people having to be paid off to let the busses pass through, plus even the bus driver wants to be paid very well for driving through a veritable war zone....

It's not like they were jaunting through Europe, y'know...

Firstly, I am still finding it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to understand why a Nigerian would go to Sudan to school.

Notwithstanding, these are the little things that give citizens a sense of belonging.

PS: massive thanks to Air Peace CEO.
