Yes, we got mechanics from ClickMechanic to go physically inspect the cars. You'll need to provide details and location of the car and they'll go inspect, then send pictures and report with recommendation. Average fee was £120. It's pretty similar to the inspection service in Naija. Honestly, there isn't a rule of thumb for negotiating in free markets. Just know what you can afford and the value of the goods. Once you buy it, no point regretting. For a 3k car, I'll start at 2k with the aim to have a deal 2.5k at most. But it depends on the value and state of the car. We used a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner for electrical/engine checks. Check suspensions, bodywork, hoods and all. Then test drive. Make sure the gears are changing well, et al. All the best. What if wife is a student (MA) and husband dependent, don't you think they would lose the council tax exemption if they pay jointly? Thoughts? Lexusgs430: |

Wking: All these long months with no shifts are you sure it won't affect ILR later. Keep worrying your employer about this topic. |

Efftyy: @Lagosismyhome raised a very valid point to highlight that not working for your sponsor (for whatever reason) will cause major issues down the line. You can't just hustle anyhow/where if it contravenes the conditions of your work visa. Besides the pp was asking about how to process a visit visa to Canada for they and their family....so hardly in survival mode 2 Likes |

Lordfiido: Alright, thanks alot. To the people already on Post Study Visa, did you do more than 20 working hours while studying or not? If so, how many did you do through your study time? alot in my set are doing more than 20hrs work per week at present and i hope it wont affect them. i cant blame them because most of them had to fend for themselves |

Don't do more than 20hrs if you don't want trouble. They are breaking the law and it can affect them down the line forkinsonlolo: 1 Like |
