Normally, those schools paying below minimum wage for a skilled job like teaching don't employ standard teachers to start with, they majorly target O'level holders. They are always having vacancies cos nobody will stay there for long...

Also, a lot of those private schools barely make money so I don't blame them much since they're majorly in poor areas where Baba Mulika and Mama Chinedu want to send their kids to a private school for 30k per term.

I think many took the exams for Jakpa matter, UK, Australia, Canada, and many Asia countries need teachers like no tomorrow especially English speakers.

Those teachers in face to face private primary and secondary schools dey try ooh, imagine teaching like 4 subjects for only 30K in a month.

I'm teaching 3 classes in a nursery school and teaching all subjects.

I find this hard to believe but if the above is true, both the BSc. & MSc. holders working there need to be flogged thoroughly, not the school owners.

How can you invest 5+ years in tertiary education and collect a salary that's less than that of ordinary POS operators? Even cleaners don't earn 18k per month, talk less of an MSc. holder.

Tertiary education is meant to broaden your mind and not make you a career coward. If you can't get a good job, start your own business.

That's not a job, that's consensual slavery.

Being a civil servant in Nigeria is the quickest way to sell yourself into slavery.

It depends on the level of government you work with. Federal Civil servants have a lot of leverage. They have a lot of time on their hands for business, their salaries are paid on time and they belong to good cooperative societies where they can get loans at very minimal interest rates for business.

Most Lagos international schools pay 150 plus to 700 based on years and course of study
