they are using their oil money well. Projects always look like Dubai level.

Ebonyi state is a state i respect. They don’t have oil or much resources, but strive hard to do their own stadiums, airports, rail in their own financial level. You see the willingness. And you know if they had more wealth or oil they would want the standard Ibom does.

Will you say is APC that is ruling Akwa ibom and Rivers state? it is not about party, is about individual who is competent, capable and courageous and passion for the people he is ruling. Akwa Ibom roads are really going bad and most of the streetlights are no longer working.

We can't abandon existing infrastructure for new ones.

The old ones needs to be maintained as well.

The bright side of the uyo city is gradually fading out.

Inorganic development. The hype and over reach of 'infrastructure'.

In a lay man's terms. You can save to buy a phone or an automobile. But it takes a job that pays wages to utilize it well.

What this means is simple. Without human capacity development that leads to productivity that yields returns in the form of taxes, capital gains, etc, infrastructure is bound to decay, as fast and as sure as a man who buys a car but has no job or income to maintain it.

That is why in 'saner climes' the economy is the principal barometer of development, not infrastructure. Infrastructure is merely the oil that greases development, not the vehicle of development itself.

No Nigerian government past or present at any level has realized this.

PS. I used to tell people who say that 'give us 24 hour electricity and Nigeria will develop' that electricity like good roads, airports, high speed internet, etc does not automatically translate to productivity and prosperity.

That there is more productivity in real terms coming out of Aba that barely has roads and more productivity coming out of the oily creeks where there are no roads at all than from Abuja that has the best infrastructure in Nigeria.

atleast he has lots of worth while projects to show and moreso very colourful indeed. So how about a certain Osun or even Ibadan that has not experienced any worthy state govt project in the last 8yrs or so.
