It was a beautiful morning, My Ma’ was in the kitchen fixing breakfast when our neighbor came to narrate her horrible but funny ordeal.

Soldier ants invaded her muddy house at night, one of the ant found its way to her labia and stung her which made her screamed her lungs out.

The way she was narrating the incident made it even funnier, in my local language (Esan), a labia is called “Ikpabedin”

As both women bursted out laughing, me, a 12 years old at the time didn’t know when I joined in the laugh. Both women paused their laugh and turned at me.

“Why are you laughing”

My Ma’ asked. She instructed me to drop the broom I was holding and come closer.

“Why are you laughing”
“Do you know what we are talking about?”

I started stuttering and looking for the right words to use in my delivery speech.

“ Do you know what Ikpabedin is”

At this point, I wanted to raise up my finger to describe it but I knew it was going to be the start of a long term fvck up.


“Carcholce??


“Ma”!!!


“tell us what Ikpabedin is”


I started explaining ..……….. … …. …. …. ….

Alright, ma. That was a post I wrote about a year ago for an upcoming skit maker, and it wasn't supposed to be realistic, you know. I just posted it on Nairaland to garner traffic for my new blog, and gratefully it did. I got over a hundred clicks at least.
