✍🏾 Are you the star of your life show?

Have you noticed that the media perpetuates messages centered around the notion that femininity is “other-focused and self-denying?"

We frequently see female actors focusing on everyone else’s needs, listening to others instead of speaking and playing a supporting role.

Over and over again, the woman is task-zoned to care-taking, even to her own detriment.

Dear Mamma,

It's up to you to decide if you want the star of the play to be work, a man, kids or family in general.

However, it doesn't make sense for a woman to play a supporting role in her own life's show.

If you notice that your needs are going unmet, try asking yourself who the main character in your life is right now, and whether you would like to stick with that or change it.

You may also try to ask yourself; "While I'm taking care of others, who's taking care of me?

It's as simple as that! If you want to be the star of your show, you know what to do.

If you want other people or things to take center stage in your life show, it's all up to you.

Nevertheless, remember self care is for everyone and self care is good health.
