No one will agree to sponsor because they know that NFF will steal the money instead of giving it to the team.

Everyone has seen how they handle the free money from FIFA meant for teams

Do they have to hand over the funds to NFF? Why not put the team in the hands of independent operators and fund them? There are numerous management consultancies that can ensure players and coaches get their salaries. I recall Dangote paying Berti Vogt directly when he coached the SE.

The NFF is corrupt and incapable of functioning as an entity. Any organisation that employs a failure like Eguaveon has nothing to offer Nigeria football.

Nigeria is a very big country. It is high time will allow our best home based coach grow with the team perpetually. Both male and female teams alike!

Nigeria's local coaches are equally useless. Maybe Finidi and Amueneke are average, the rest are hopeless and useless.

It is looking like a situation of when the desirable is not available then the available becomes the desirable.

In fairness to Coach Austin Eguavoen, he is such a patriotic Nigerian who is always ready and willing to help bail us out when we have problems with the foreign coaches. I do hope nff will pay him well and as at when due this time around. Check my signature for free stuffs!

nigeria is backward country.

NFF is just using him the way they used Amodu Shuaibu

He is a pathetic coach, he is only patriotic because he is useless, and nobody wants him, he was also a very limited SE player.

Why can't the NFF get sponsorship from local businesses to fund the SE team and management?
The SE players are living the life you and your failed generation can only dream of bro wink even your wife will dump u for them if giving the opportunity wink
Igbo amaka cool

Its like this we NFF squandered Trillions of Naira in the name of having Oyibo coach on top GroundNut Rohr's head angry With nothing to show for it after many years sad

Use those billions an invest in the best team of homegrown coaches and technical coaching specialists . It is not as if we never succeeded with home-grown coaches in the past haba!

I just tire for Nigerians.
Just accustomed to suffering, failure and mediocrity.

This is a man that has coached the team perhaps more than any Nigerian in history with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Where is the respect he will get from the players, where is the fear they will have of him....

And on your second point, absolutely spot on. The management of the team from salaries to training and tours can be financed exclusively by sponsorship.

All it takes is creativity, hardwork and consistent integrity. Football is ultra popular in Nigeria and the people are just begging for some sort of purposeful structure and they will open their wallets.

Who loves soccer in Nigeria abeg step up and chase these charlatans out of the way. Tired of all these nonsensical merry-go-round.

Keep your sentiments aside. Eguavoen has had a woeful record as player and coach.
It's like you want him in so Nigeria fails to qualify then you can have a field day blaming NFF.

NFF, thanks for refusing to pay $70,000 (#63,000,000.00) monthly.

Eguavoen can perform better if:

When he is paid the same amount NFF is proposing to the foreign coach, given the same respect, freedom to operate and if his salary is automated from NFF account direct to his account every month.

With these conditions met, Eguavoen will use his wisdom, sweat, blood, prayer, and all the spiritual aides under the earth to perform and deliver.

No body can perform excellently well when he is distracted and not sure of the position of things.

Odyssey grin.

But it was my serpent who silenced Laocoon or your horse was doomed, yet you refuse to give thanks. You forget, a man is nothing without the gods. You will suffer for this offense. For your arrogance, you will drift on my sea for an eternity, never again will you reach the shores of Ithaca.
My favorite from Poseidon grin
