Nigeria is one of the easiest place to make money on earth. Everything sells here in Nigeria. We'll make a very good biz partner as I have this business passion with a great marketing ability. Lets talk +2347031128665
When it comes to Transport, I'll prefer you go for an INTER-STATE transportation i.e from one state to the other. . You can even start with a bus

Build a factory and produce your own products. Stop importing everything. We need to give away our currency to make it stronger.

Taxi cab in Abuja? People there complain of the insincerity of drivers affecting the business. Inter-State transport is better to manage. Dry juice can make a good market but you may have to deploy aggressive marketing by advertising to beat existing market.
One other factor to consider is that products from America are always costlier inspite of the quality and that is why most Nigerian importers are facing towards the East (China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand)

Why not consider a small scale industry to produce home made goods like backery and pastries or iron wrought designs for buildings windows (there are manually operated machines from Austria which cost about N2m to acquire)
Multivitamins and pharmaceuticals involves too many procedures and duties before importation which can be frustrating except you want to import through smuggling routes or use the multi-level networking like Forever Living Products, GNLD and making a lot of unfulfilled promises and making a lot of noise about the efficasy of your drugs.
Think more about what you can establish here locally.

My dad had a factory for years struggling and changing heavy generators like he was changing clothes. It takes 30 mins for the machines to warm up and Nepa will come on for 20min so he will incur NEPA fees, Machines spoiling due to power on and off , Staff's salary afterall they no send you work and produce nothing cry cry cry. I learnt that the business not to do in Nigeria is any production that depends mainly on electricity.

In my opinion the best start up business in Nigeria will be online ( using the population to play the number game or ask seun how far?) Agriculture either animals: poultry or serious giant farms ( fab soil, lots of sunshine and number game again), I like insurance too not sure it can be started with little capital sha o .

Investment will be brick and mortar =property ---only for the belleful sha.

I want to start a "small OR mid sized scale water treatment / desalination" plant business. I have been researching for a minute but cannot seem to find so much information about variable statistics. I welcome ideas for this, if this is worth the time spent on the research process ====> to the business plan writing ===> before moving on to the next step; seeking OPM.

your business ideas are not bad. but if you are really going for transportation, then you might need my service too. you will need to install car trackers into all the cars/buses you intend to use for transportation. by doing this, you can monitor the movement of each car on both the internet and your mobile phone anywhere in the world at anytime of the day. otherwise, the attitudes of some drivers will surelly kill the business. you can reach me on 08022566448 or 08039127604 so that we can discuss better. wish you business success!

Dis guy. Did he say all that? Baby steps. Building his own factory doesn't mean not importing anything. There are other energy alternatives than being connected to d national grid. We need to start thinking outside d box. Instead of discouraging people. If the Wright brothers had been on d forum there would be no airplanes today. Bldg his own would at the very least identify n give us a frame of ref that isn't just theory.

lol energy alternatives in nigeria

people that want to do trade especially import business dont have capital that stretch that far and to be honest alternative energy is a luxury in nigeria. how do you tell a 20something year old that wants to start up to build a factory

yes baby steps i good look at dangote, he started buying and selling too!!!
Re: Business Ideas In Nigeria by Nobody: 11:44am On Oct 18, 2011
Yes. Energy alternatives can be utilized anywhere. We are very inefficient with our human power. Factory does not have to be state of the art. It could be manual assembly line. Quit p1ssing on ideas n move on. In d Philippine slums u know what they use for light? A soda bottle partially filled with water set in a hole on d roof. (for daylight) angled at the sun. Its going to be d general public that changes nigeria not the govt. We need to start looking for alternatives. Let go of can't do. Other developing nations in South America have figured out energy. Let's atleasy identify our road blocks. Nobody is forcing a 20 year old to bldg anything. Just sharing ideas.

@ATLgal . have some pending orders for scrap bottles for export to india, china. They have the advantage to turn this scap pet bottle to raw material and they will send it back for the production of preforms( the raw material in question is calld Polyethlene Terephalate. The biggest consumer of pet bottle in nigeria is coca cola.

Dis guy. If u don't agree with me I agree with u. Its closed minded people like u that keep entire nations from progressing. What exactly have u invented or done to better the nation? We keep making technological leaps and adopting things made else where. We need to start inventing what works for US. Wind mills can generate energy.there are so many alternatives that'll create jobs. But I guess ur sarcasm will power d factories instead.
