4 Things Only Hardcore Lamborghini Fans Know About The Aventador SVJ by ibinaboonline: 3:22pm On Sep 09, 2023

Just 900 Aventador SVJs were ever made. Whether you already know that or not, welcome to the world of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, where speed meets luxury and automotive artistry reaches its pinnacle.

The Super Veloce Jota (SVJ) is a member of the Lamborghini Aventador family. The "Jota" is there to remind those who haven't noticed yet that this hypercar loves the circuits. The SVJ pushes the boundaries of the supercar status with its ultra-futuristic design and enhanced patented Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0 (ALA 2.0).

While many admire this supercar from afar, there's an elite group of enthusiasts who've delved deeper, uncovering hidden gems that only the most dedicated SVJ fans are privy to. Here, we're happy to unveil four exclusive insights that separate the true SVJ aficionado from the rest.

1. Nurburgring Lap Record

Yes, The Aventador is very fast, but even grandma knows a Lambo is a fast car. However, the Aventador SVJ isn’t just a fast car. It is the first-ever production car to hold the Nurburgring lap record at 6:44:97 minutes. It could do that with 530 pound-feet of torque and the ability to break 217 mph.

The heart of the Aventador SVJ is a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine producing an impressive 770 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque.

The engine marries a 7-speed ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) automated manual transmission, supporting the Aventador SVJ to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of around 217 mph.

The supercar features Lamborghini's advanced all-wheel-drive system for exceptional traction and handling. It also incorporates rear-wheel steering for improved agility at high speeds and maneuverability at lower speeds. However, what really flies the SVJ is the ALA 2.0 aerodynamic breakthrough, but more on that later.

2. Active Suspension Technology

The SVJ’s front and rear shock absorbers are capable of split-second reaction times. Whew! The Active Suspension technology utilizes the magnetorheological (MR) suspension system, allowing for a more stable, smoother ride on rough terrains. In other words,

the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ features an advanced active suspension system that enhances its handling and performance. They call it LDS (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva) system. Here's how it works:

The system relies on various sensors placed throughout the vehicle, including accelerometers, gyroscopes, and wheel speed sensors. These sensors continuously monitor the car's movements, road conditions, and driver input.

The data collected from these sensors is processed in real-time by the car's onboard computer. The computer calculates the optimal settings for each wheel's suspension independently based on the current driving conditions.

Furthermore, the Aventador SVJ is equipped with adaptive dampers at each wheel. These dampers can change their stiffness or damping rate within milliseconds, thanks to electronically controlled valves.

As the car accelerates, brakes, or encounters uneven road surfaces, the active suspension system reacts instantaneously. It adjusts the damping force at each wheel individually to maintain optimal tire contact with the road and control body movement.

As a Lambo fan, you already know that the Aventador SVJ typically offers multiple driving modes, such as Strada (street), Sport, Corsa (track), and Ego (customizable). In each mode, the active suspension system can fine-tune the ride quality and handling characteristics to match the driver's preferences and the driving environment.

Lamborghini's active suspension works in conjunction with the car's rear-wheel steering system to enhance cornering agility and stability at high speeds. In the Ego mode, drivers can customize various vehicle parameters, including suspension settings, to tailor the driving experience to their liking.

3. The ALA 2.0

Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva 2.0, often abbreviated as ALA 2.0, is Lamborghini's advanced active aerodynamics system. It's designed to optimize the Aventador SVJ's aerodynamic performance, enhancing both cornering stability and straight-line speed. Here's how ALA 2.0 works:

At the front of the vehicle, ALA 2.0 features active flaps integrated into the splitter. These flaps can open or close independently to either allow air pass through or redirect it around the car. At the rear, the system includes an adjustable rear wing with flaps.

Similar to the front flaps, the rear flaps can adjust their position to control airflow over and under the wing. ALA 2.0 is linked to the car's onboard computer and various sensors. The system continuously analyzes data such as vehicle speed, steering angle, throttle and brake input, and lateral and longitudinal acceleration.

When the Aventador SVJ enters a corner, ALA 2.0 can adjust the aerodynamics to maximize downforce on the inside wheels. This increases grip and stability during high-speed cornering, reducing the likelihood of understeer or oversteer. During straight-line acceleration, ALA 2.0 can optimize the aerodynamics for minimal drag and maximum speed.

The flaps are adjusted to minimize air resistance, allowing the car to achieve higher top speeds. When the brakes are applied, the system can adapt to create additional downforce at the front and rear, enhancing braking performance.

In some Lamborghini models, drivers can manually control the ALA system via selectable driving modes. This gives drivers the flexibility to customize the aerodynamic settings based on their preferences or track conditions.
