You would agree that living in Nigeria alone is stressful. However, when you undergo stress regularly, it can have dangerous effects on your health. Most people no longer know that when they are stressed. This is because their body is in a default mode of chronic stress and no longer understands how to return to normal.

This is the worst kind of stress, as it can cause internal havoc that is undetectable until it is too late. Therefore, the alarming ways stress can harm your body include:                

  1. It can increase your risk of heart attack or stroke.

Chronic stress can lead to heart attacks and strokes. This is because when you are stressed, stress hormones are released, which raise your heart rate.
