Cruising On The Winds of Life
What would I give in order to receive

What fist would I unclench that a gift may replace

What control would I relinquish that providence might work at will

What grand dreams would I kill that predestination would be fulfilled

What desires and expectations would I give up that grace might perform perfection

What battles would I willingly lose that heaven might adjudicate

What rights and freedoms would I willingly relinquish

That the brotherhood and sisterhood of humankind might benefit

I bequeath my need for control

My worries and cares

My fears for the future

My grand dreams and expectations

And all my best-laid plans

With fists unclenched and arms outstretched

I face life’s wind and hope for the best
