am on Comonth, download speed is at 5k/s. its so frustrating. No Edge since 2days, i had to jump ship and joined mtn bis, its uncomparable. Glo Co-nonsense=waste of cash! embarassed

I'm on comonth and i mjust say i get a good service usage when only on 3g. And for the record, download speed cannot be determined in isolation. Downloading small files give unbelievable speed compared to downloading heavy files. On the average, mine gets btw 120kb/s anytime from 10pm till around 2pm.

Do not mind Nigerians, some of them will buy BB Curve 8520 for N29,000 and be expecting 3 GBps download speed. Before complaining, check the access tech on your phone. I use Glo, though not BIS and it is the fastest and hence my default internet service provider.

mine isnt with credit, it just flows, as long as u set ur browser type to blackberry, not mozilla or explorer.

I downloaded a movie file at 186kbps at about 3am on a friend's 9700 using glo BB complete weekly in Surulere. Reportedly get 230+kbps in Ketu.
Personally, I use Airtel and the best I've seen is around 30kbps (though on an 8520)
Re: What's Your Bis Download Speed? by benzion72(m): 12:54pm On Oct 29, 2011
I don't think it has anything to do with BB type if I used BB 8520 with MTN,Etisalat and Airtel and it is very fast I do not see why it should turn to snail with Glo for Christ sake or there is a different GPRS, EDGE or 3.5G what I noticed from status is that while I receive -51dBm with MTN.Glo is having -80dBm
Re: What's Your Bis Download Speed? by XKZ(m): 1:11pm On Oct 29, 2011
3G and 3.5G networks are much more faster than EDGE/GPRS networks. BB 8520 is an EDGE/GPRS phone and therefore can not attain 3G download speeds.
