jokes aside…It shows that the Nigerian government needs to do more in order to encourage voting.looking at how voters see the last elections, the turn out of the next elections may just be worse..
m

I don’t know how the Nigerian government is different from 200 million Nigerians. Will you be kind enough to explain.

Nigeria is just managing with 29% voters turnout..

Next thing now,, some people will just come out to say that the Nigeria’s 29% is far far bigger than the Liberia’s “meagre” 78%..

That's just it.
Nigerians always loved QUANTITY over QUALITY.
They deliberately defranchise many voters. Leave that lies from eyeneck

Nigerians have lost faith in elections. We believe our votes don't count so what's the need of wasting time standing under the sun to vote? Until we change that mindset, there will always be repeated cases of low turn out

This mentality is how the politicians will continue to manipulate the electoral processes because of voter apathy. If the Government cum politicians is bent on creating situations that would warrant the people to lose faith in elections...WE the people MUST insist on electoral due processes...but you see, we are DOCILE.....any electoral encumberance encountered tends to influence us in docility/apathy.....when it is that moment we INSIST and show our CRAZINESS....

The problem is: There's just too many bottlenecks to voting in Nigeria

First, u can't vote outside the area where u registered for PVC

Two, Election should start by 9am, inec staff will come by 3pm. By then many people are already tired and left

Three, in many states, if you're not a member of the majority ethnicity, to exercise your franchise na wahala

Fourthly, election in Nigeria is usually characterized by violence. So, in the reasoning of many pple, why go risk my life for a politician who may not even care

Fifthly, Inec is incompetent and there's too much corruption in the system. Many pple don't really believe their votes will count. Even if it did, what's the guarantee the courts won't change the results based on some technicality?

Finally, our voter count is incorrect. Nigeria doesn't really have up to 90m registered voters. Inec registration list has not been reviewed in yrs. Many of these voters are dead, or out of the country or doesn't even have PVC. I know someone that stood in line for hrs to do voter registration and then when he went to Inec office to collect his PVC, they said his own was missing. Some persons applied for relocation of polling station. It was not approved on time.

There's just too many problems with our democracy. The matter tire me truly🤦🏽

Whereas, the February election was supposed to be that way, but Thiéfnubu in conjunction with Yakubu the useless INEC chairman rigged massively for Thiéfnubu and threw away millions of vote to make look like many people didn't vote.

In the last election in Nigeria the turnout was more than 60%. But this wasn't reflected because the results were prepared before the election day.
Rigging when too many numbers are involved is difficult that is the idea of culling the number down.
It surprising how Nigerians believed that an election which had the three major regions in Nigeria in an era of heightened political and social media awareness just had barely 20million voters!

Let us believe this theory.

The number of people who came out to vote were too many, but the BVAS rejected more than 90% of them..
Only about 10% of all the voters who came out to vote were successfully accredited..

Then,, the INEC should release the INEC Accreditation Detailed Report..
And the report should also give full details of number/percentage of voters whose voters-card-details were identified inside the electronic register inside the BVAS,, but were not authenticated for voting., And thus, didn't vote..

This REPORT will go a very long way in telling us exactly what happened during the election.

The voter turn out for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria was high, especially with the Obedient movement campaign. They rose to the occassion by curbing voter apathy which gave assurances that votes will be counted accurately using the INEC electronic portals.
Unfortunately that wasn't to be the case, voter suppression mechanisms were introduced in large scale on certain regions across the contraption to dampen vote turn outs.

Bros you got it. An election that all Hausas and Fulani were fully involved. Igbos dropped their election apathy and participated fully. Yorubas were fully involved and the turn out ended with lesser votes than when 2015 wasn't that magic?
Nigerians are not even talking about this.

Nigerians don't trust their electoral process.
Secondly, what is the population of Nigeria compared to the number of voters turned out in Liberia?.
The population of Liberia is 5million, with over 78percent voter turn out, and the population of Nigeria is well over 200million with voter turn out of over 10million..
Wetin I dey talk sef?

Someone anticipated you will come out with this dumb statement

This is possible because their votes count

Unlike one GOD forsaken country, which I think I will never vote in again until am satisfied with the voting process. undecided

Many people think like this.
And they didn't vote in 2023, just because they stood by the side and observed the process to see if the noise the INEC made about the BVAS/IREV combination was true.

And yet again, it seemed all fake.

So, even with all the technology involved, nobody can trust the Nigerian INEC.
