Right from the time Satan LIED to Adam and Eve that their eyes will be open to know good and bad mankind has been under the control of a wicked ruler who keeps lying that humans can rule themselves successfully.
Mankind has tried so many system of government in time past but it has always been a LIE.
There is nothing good to write home about human government call it any name you want!

DEMOCRACY is the last system of government the scriptures foretold that Satan will introduce to mankind. Please careful read Daniel 2:36-44 diligently study those verses try to meditate thoroughly and pray fervently for divine wisdom.

This is what Daniel is saying there:

Before Nebuchadnezzar two world rulers have dominates this planet Egypt and Assyria. Both nations was headed by dictatorship under kings that ruled with their human minds but from the time of Nebuchadnezzar God began counting the days given to Satan to prove that humans can successfully achieve peace and security with their system of rule.
Remember Nebuchadnezzar sacked the king in Jerusalem and that's where God's chosen King who is Christ supposed to establish His government.
The countdown began with Nebuchadnezzar that's why Satan instigated the man to establish what we know today as National Anthem {Daniel 3:7} this was meant to unite all the people under one umbrella so there will be peace and security as religion is mixed with politics but the system failed woefully and Satan has to introduce one system of rule after another for over 2500 years (seven times) in which mankind has tried various system of government.
Now in the final part of that prophecy note how Daniel interpreted the dream:

"In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. And this kingdom will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it alone will stand forever" Daniel 2:44

God's Kingdom will be established during the time that humans are passing power over to one another WILLINGLY!
Please what type of government is that?

Before you answer let's consider what verse 43 said:

Just as you saw iron mixed with soft clay, they will be mixed with the people; but they will not stick together, one to the other, just as iron does not mix with clay. Daniel 2:43

The highlighted in blue said this system of government "will be mixed with the people" meaning the rulers will have to depend on what the PEOPLE decides before installing a ruler. Is that not what they're calling DEMOCRACY today?
The people will have to VOTE for a ruler of their choice and continue protesting when their rulers does what they don't like.
Well that's what mixing authority with the people means.

So DEMOCRACY is the last system of government to be tried by humans since the destruction of Jerusalem in 607 BCE.

In the first century the Jews were worried that after they've seen Jesus and ascertained that he is the promised Christ why is he wasting time and not taking over the world with his righteous rule as foretold in the scriptures? Isaiah 9:6-9

Jesus told his faithful disciples that such can't happen until the appointed time God gave the nations ended {Luke 21:24} that's the SEVEN TIMES God gave Satan and all his human agents to prove their worth if they can bring peace and security to the earth!
