To gauge the level of ignorance on Nairaland, just introduce a topic on Finance or something related to shares/ stock. Pronto, you see wonders.

Cos your common senses have beeb bombed by partisan spirits
Your feelings are not facts. MTN pays Erickson in $$€€ which manages its network architecture. It pays IHS in $$ which manages its tower network system.. it pays Oracle and Microsoft in $$ for providing software and enterprize solutions

MTN charges you in Naija and converts it to U$ to pay its vendors and contractors… thus getting exposed to FX volatility because they had those contracts at $1/N467 then rate jumped to $1/760… so a currency speculator would have made more $$ by selling stockpile of $$ in its reserve.

But blocked olodos like u keep using terms and words you have no idea how and where they apply .

You got f9 in economy… still not late, you can brush up on intl trade and balance of trade.

Your Naija budget is benchmarked against dollar. NNPC oil contracts are denominated in $$$. JV and LNG contracts are denominated in $$$… you’re delusional about how things work.
Airlines, foreign companies repatriate their funds in $$$…

They left their core business and started currency speculation, now Naira is gaining very fast against the dollar due to reduction in demand for luxury goods by many Nigerians and they are now crying just like the Nairalander who took advise from here to stock up on dollar at N1300 hoping it will get to N1500 in a few days only to see it crash below N1300 the next day and still going down further today
You call 1300 to 1 dollar gaining? The level of mediocrity in this country is alarming and shocking at the same time.

Typical online rants without any factual basis.. you havent checked up things by urself…. Cos you’re intellectually bereft of separating facts and logic from emotions .. lol.

You cant even read and comprehend common financial news like this. You’re proving them right that an average black man hates reading…you have exemplified that.
