So there is bad weather at Abuja, pilot decides to divert to Asaba for the safety of the flight, passanger are complaining. Nigerians are the most difficult folks to deal with. Maybe if the pilot had safety device that will make him disappear from aircraft, he should have jumped out and allow the plane to go to Abuja by force and anything the passangers see, make them take am like that.
Some say the pilot made mistake, that him no know say na Abuja him suppose go, na wah, as if aviation business is like entering bus from iyana paja to oshodi.

Exactly my thoughts. That's why i believe the airline is lying. A friend's sister was on that flight. They were not told anything.

Looks like a cover up I smell gross incompetence.
Even if you are diverting flight it will be announced to the boarding passengers not just going ahead with it.
Secondly why announce arrival at zik Airport when you are in asaba.

you missed the point , if it was a diversion it would have been announced on the PA sustem and the flight attendance would have knowed.

There is more to this story as if it was a diversion it shuld have gone to Enugu airport with a longer runway than Asaba airport with a shorter runway.

I'm telling you I have had a similar experience and we diverted to this same asaba airport for close to 2 hours on ground before flying back to Abuja.
The cabin crew may have failed to sink the info with the passengers though, but its nothing new to worth a news over security and safety of 100s of souls on the plane.
