The police in Edo has arrested a 14-year-old student, Miracle Nwarime, for the alleged killing of another student Kelvin Akhidenor, 16, at Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area.

The police had also arrested one Miss Perpetual in connection with the incident which occurred on Monday. Nwarine was alleged to have stabbed the deceased five times on the head region with a broken bottle after a disagreement over “ a girlfriend”. It was learnt that the victim was rushed to the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Irrua, Edo where he eventually died.

It was further learnt that the suspect, the deceased and some others had left a popular drinking spot at Ekpoma moments before the incident. The Divisional Police Officer in Ekpoma, Mr. Amos Opadoja, confirmed the incident and said the case had been transferred the State Police Command in Benin City
