Thank God the thief has been arrested. Now is the time to ask the owner of the money where they get such huge dollars from? We need to start asking questions in this country.

Mention one you know. Norway, China, Denmark etc. have 90% abolish cash transactions. Go virtual currency or go broke.

Well I know for US though, Rappers and entertainers do it all the time for showbiz, running into hundreds of dollars.

People go to Clubs and Casinos with thousands of dollars in Cash.

Also there are businesses that involve fast deals, contract bids and purchases where you need cash to give you an advantage. Sometimes if you try to make a large transfer, the bank will flag that transaction and it won't go through. Someone who came with cash will not have those problems.

And after the first line you will still have some question and answer from the cops when something like this happens dere...

You'll only be questioned if there's reasonable suspicion that the cash was obtained through illegal activity like drugs or black market trades. People store cash all the time in America. It's nothing new.

However, no body gets into trouble just because they have a lot of money on them.

Hhmm, that kind Househelp

But, who dey keep that kind big money at home?? That’s over N76M in today’s dollar to Naira exchange

And even carelessly kept where a hungry, eagle-eyed and economically messed-up househelp can see and touch. lol, not funny

The employee should be probed. What is he doing with such amount of dollars in cash? Apparently there is much more than that in his house.

Our people should stop employing these obidients as housemaids.

They are just too covetous.

They've all started attacking the employer and rationalizing the criminal act in their usual fashion.

If you must hire them, let them work only when you are at home. Don't take them as Live-in maids.

I employ them a lot but can never let them stay close to my money.

What makes me a bigot? Are Obidients an ethnic group?

The word Bigot is not relegated to Tribe.

Police authorities at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, have arrested one Blessing Effiong, a domestic staff, and her husband, Bassey Effiong, for stealing $51,000 from their employer’s residence in the Lekki area of Lagos.

According to reports from the command, Blessing, who was recommended for employment by an agent named Anthony, began her employment as a domestic staff on December 23, 2023. Shockingly, within just three days of commencing work, she absconded with $51,000 along with her husband, fleeing to Cross River State.

Police were making report of arrest of a thief while another crime is committed without any arrest. What is such hard currency is doing at home, arrest the employer too, let them explain what they do with such amount of foreign currency at home.

Good job apprehending the thief!!!
I hope the source of the $51,000 will also be investigated o.
No wonder FOREX is so high. Nigerians are so clueless as to the real reasons for their problems. That is why I strongly believe the Nigerian situation is hopeless!

Mostly politicians. But some people prefer to have it at their react anytime, than keeping it in the back. Not to attract EFCC or easy to access when travelling or for other transactions, that require cash.
