Are you afraid your secrets will be exposed? Anyways you don't have to worry about that, just send us some $$$$$$$ for charity and God will hide all your secrets. Blessed are those whose sins are covered. cheesy

We still have 2 vacant positions for field officers

the criteria remains:

- Must be able to donate some of their precious time to go out and investigate cases anywhere in Nigeria
- To physically confirm and lead projects; must be in Nigeria, ready to devote time for the exercises
- Must be a regular poster on Nairaland NOT once a week poster
- Preferably Male since we already have 2 Female Field officers

Interested persons should please mail us at nairalandcharity@gmail.com

Why are you guys limiting this vacancy to guys? It seems the only interested person is a female. Why not consider her since you need someone urgently.

I wwas just thinking.

Appreciation From Ubong -

Hello, all members of the teHN committee, and all other nairalanders.
This is Ubong, feeling at a loss for words in response to your help and generosity.

Today I received a gift of N296,000 from Nairaland Charity, courtesy of all you good people. Wow... to say that I am elated would be a gross understatement. I still find it difficult to grasp the fact that people that I do not know, and vice-versa, actually rose up for my sake, to see to it that I pull through this illness successfully. It's situations like this that strengthen my belief that there is a God or Divine Being that looks out for us, if we subscribe to Him( and sometimes, even if we don't).

Now, at least, I can pay for the radiotherapy and several post-therapy consultation sessions, and take proper care of myself, especially during the six-week duration of the radiotherapy.

A friend of mine once told me that Nigerians may be considered to be "so, so"( "so, so" here representing words too derogatory to be repeated on this forum), but that she would not change the love that she had for them, because she believed that inside of every human being there was a beautiful person, regardless of what was on the outside. Now, I realize that the nairaland forum comprises everybody from every part of the world, but this gesture has boosted my hope in a great Nigeria, my love for Nigerians and for all of humanity in general. May blessings and favors encompass you all every single minute of your lives. For, as you all have sown beneficial things into my life, so also shall you all reap success and fulfillment in all your endeavors.

I'll be sure to keep everybody posted on my progress.
I sincerely thank you all for making this happen. You truly are friends indeed.

Stay blessed, everybody, and have a great week ahead.

r231: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-801338.64.html#bot

There has been a high response rate to the story above, based on the family's situation which has become quite critical.

A lot of Nairaland members have shown interest and would like to make contributions in various forms with money being the highest form.

The various contributions will help the family greatly and money will definitely help as this would help to rent them an apartment and feed the children especially.

Now we have had a number of other cases previously where members have to make monetary contributions to help other less privileged members and so as soon as we obtain the family's details we will ensure that we get it across.

With all this being said and based on the response rate along with various suggestions, we are considering the possibility of setting up a Nairaland Charity Org which will help cases like this.

Please indicate whether you are in support of and would like to be a part of this initiative by indicating YES OR NO below.

Please feel free to make additional suggestion.

Help Faud for Cancer Treatment.

The word "cancer" is one we disassociate ourselves with in any way. Its one of those things u never really want to think about, like if u thought too much about it, it would appear somewhere in your system. Truth is whether or not u think about it, its out there and unlike HIV, Hepatitis et al, it starts from within u...

I am Fu'ad, a 27yr old student from Maiduguri, Nigeria. I was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal carcinoma after FEB 2010, I was treated with radio therapy in the same year as I went for radiation on my face for 2 months in Sokoto followed by 6months chemotherapy injection in Zaria.

In MAY 2011 when I started feeling pain in my left leg (hip joint) my Oncology doc said I should go for bone scan or mri which I did. Radiation was done in d place for pain relief and he advised me to go for PET scan which was not available in Nigeria so I went to India and did d test. The results showed bone metastases around my RIGHT RIB, CHEST, BACK AND LEFT HIP so they did radiotherapy in all the places for 40days and they advised me to stay and add 3 courses of chemo. Unfortunately I couldn't afford it there so I came back home and did it and it showed that it has affected my left leg and 10th rib.

I am in constant excruciating pain, its indescribable in a very unpleasnat way. My family has done and are still doing their best to help me get treated but we can't afford the $13,000 USD that should cover my treatment in the next 3months. I know its a lot and I know you will be thinking, why not stay in Nigeria and do it. My doctors have all advised me to go where cancer cases are handled with the aggressiveness and seriousness it requires.

I need help, and I need it as soon as I get it. I'm trusting God that He will touch your hearts to enable you make a difference in my life.
