Although Yobo has been consistently committed to Eagles, pushing forward to even score goals in criticial periods, notwithstanding I don't think this is the right time to give him. As the captain of the SE that failed to qualify for the easiest task of qualifying for ANC just last month, the first time in 25 years, it is an insult and a celebration of failure to give him national award now. He has personally done well for Nigeria, but that should have been noted and penciled down for maybe next year, when he MUST have qualified Nigeria for 2013 ANC. The timing is wrong. |

The first SE captain that failed to qualify Nigeria for ordinary ANC in 25yrs. Why do we celebrate shame with awards? Gbam , u said it all. |

Yobo has been more committed than the word committed can possibly define. He turns up for away games and goes ahead to score. Kanu and Okocha were all away games shy. Yobo always showed up. He deserved the award before the Super Eagles failed to qualify. He has topped the record set by Muda Lawal and Kanu (most caps). Fans at the National Stadium in Lagos did not make mistake in prefixing Snr to his name hence his SnrYobo like he was a senior in Secondary School. |
